“Dense!” is a mixed-media artwork inspired by one of my high school graduation pieces, “The Gamble of Life”. 
In The Gamble of Life, I used poker cards to form a hand figure trying to capture the Ace as a metaphor for how most people in this capitalist society are willing to risk everything to gain money, fame and power. 

「 密です！」は高校卒業制作のひとつである「 人生賭局 」にインスピレーションされたミクストメディア作品です。
「 人生賭局 」では、トランプを使って、この資本主義社会のほとんどの人々が、お金や名声や権力を得るためにすべてを賭けることを厭わないということのメタファーとして、エースを捕らえようとする手の形を表現しました。

I decided to create a new work with poker cards because art supply stores closed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s hard to get the painting materials like paper and pigments that I usually use. One day, I came across these poker cards with a 10,000 yen note design printed on the back and I found them interesting, therefore, I decided to use them to express the impact of the pandemic on the Japanese economy and people.

コロナの影響で画材屋が閉まってしまい、普段使っている紙や顔料などの画材が手に入りにくくなったので、トランプを使うことになりました。ある日、裏面に1万円札のデザインが印刷されたトランプを見つけ、面白いと思ったので、コロナが日本経済や人々の日常生活に与える影響を表現するために使うことにしました。
